Short answer: before buying motorcycle handlebar speakers, measure the bar at the exact mounting points, confirm there is enough straight space around the controls and windshield, and plan a safe 12V wiring route that still allows full steering movement. A speaker is only a good fit when the clamp size, physical clearance and power setup all work together.
1. Measure the handlebar at the mounting points
Do not rely only on the motorcycle model name. Handlebars can change with trim levels, risers and aftermarket upgrades, so measure the diameter where each clamp will actually sit.

2. Check straight mounting space and clamp clearance
Diameter is only the first check. The clamp also needs a straight section of bar where it can sit securely. Inspect both sides for:
- switch housings, brake and clutch controls;
- mirror mounts, phone mounts and other accessories;
- windshield or fairing brackets;
- the fuel tank and bodywork at full left and right steering lock.
Turn the handlebar fully in both directions before choosing the position. The speaker, clamp and wiring must not restrict steering or interfere with the controls.
3. Plan the speaker position before tightening anything
Temporarily position the system first. Confirm that the speaker faces the rider, the buttons or knobs remain reachable, and the housing does not block the instrument display. Recheck clearance after the clamps are aligned but before final tightening.
If the available space is tight, K2 is the more compact KSPEAKER direction. S7 is the stronger open-road audio option, but the final choice still depends on the available mounting space and the riding position.
4. Confirm the 12V power and wiring route
K2 and S7 are designed to connect to a motorcycle's 12V battery. The manuals show the red power lead connected to the positive terminal and the black lead connected to the negative terminal, followed by the power-cord connection to the speaker.
Plan the route before fastening the cable. Leave enough slack for full steering movement, protect the wire from sharp edges and pinch points, and secure it so it cannot reach hot or moving components. The manuals also state that the audio wiring should not be routed close to the high-voltage package or spark plug. If you are not comfortable working with motorcycle wiring, use a qualified installer.
5. Decide whether K2 or S7 fits the job
